Yulonda Y. Kelley, LPC

Yulonda Kelley is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Owner of Pathway to Purpose, a small private counseling practice she maintains in downtown Decatur. Her theoretical orientation is Transpersonal. In which, she received specialized training from Marilyn Frasca, Professional Artist and protégé of the late Dr. Ira Progoff, a leading authority on Transpersonal Psychology.

With over 20 years experience in the mental health field, Yulonda has worked in a variety of settings, including a Native American substance abuse facility in Seattle, Washington and Western New Yorks only private inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse facility. Additionally, she's been an outspoken advocate for many causes, such as Domestic Violence, Communities Against Rape, HIV/ AIDs and Livable Wages, alongside social activists and city leaders.

Early in Yulonda's career, she was involved in a tragic accident that resulted in a Near-Death- Experience. She said, "The accident left me with a gift, a gift to see beyond the ego and into the essence of who one truly is." Through this gift, she has been able to help others embrace truth, transcend pain, and cultivate a deep conscious awakening for creating a more meaningful life on purpose.

More importantly, she realizes that an authentic therapeutic relationship is essential for real change. Her genuine admiration and love for people help create a comfortable environment where one feels safe. Her communication style is direct, yet warm and compassionate. She listens intuitively, and respectfully recognizes and responds to the 'child within' everyone.
